Economic sabotage: Zamfara State governor Dauda hijacks lucrative mining sites, "locals cries out.

 

Some locals in Maru and Anka local governments area of Zamfara State have accused His Excellency Dauda Lawal the Executive governor of Zamfara State for converting  their ancestral farmland to gold mining sites which force them to migrate to the neighboring States of Niger and kebbi States.

" Last week, some officials of Zamfara State government came to our village and asked us to vacate our farmlands  that the Federal government want to commence gold excavation to boost the Nation economic growth,  only later to discovered that the Federal government knew nothing about the mission but the earnest intrest of Zamfara State governor Dauda Lawal who brought in some Chinese Nationals to excavate gold  in our heritage lands, " Malam Sadi Danjika one of the local from   Anguwan Dansanda area of Maru Local government lamented.

Investigations  in to the illegal mining embarked by  the Zamfara State government further uncovered that,  some residents of  Anka local government Villages were last Montth asked  by the  State government to leave their farmlands for monetary compensation to allow  same mining activities to commence.

One of the district head from Anka who pleaded Annonimity said that, " the number of Chinese Nationals miners that are inside their deep forest is a matter of concern, calling for the Federal government to do the needful before things get out of hands.

A protocol in Zamfara State government House Gusau who as well declined to mention his Name due to the fear of intimidation confirmed that, "for the past two months they have been busy ferrying Chinese Nationals miners in to various mining locations in the State.

Recalled that the Federal government of Nigeria has since banned inlegal Mining in Zamfara State due to the high increase of bandits activities in the State.
