MATAWALLE ATTENDS INDIA-NIGERIA DEFENCE COOPERATION AND COLLABORATION SEMINAR.

The Honourable Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle MON, attended the India-Nigeria Defence Cooperation and Collaboration Seminar held today, Thursday, March 7, 2024, at the India High Commission here in Abuja. The seminar marked a significant step towards fostering a strategic partnership between Nigeria and India in the realm of defence.


In his address, Dr. Matawalle expressed profound pleasure at the commencement of this landmark event, highlighting its importance in initiating a mutually beneficial relationship between Nigeria and India within the defence industry. He emphasized the seminar's role in strengthening the bond between the Nigerian and Indian governments and its pivotal contribution to enhancing the operational capabilities of the Nigerian Armed Forces.


Acknowledging Nigeria's commitment to fortifying its military-industrial complex, His Excellency Dr. Matawalle underscored the recent enactment of the DICON Bill, 2023, as a testament to the government's dedication to enhancing the country's defence capabilities.


Dr. Bello Matawalle extended sincere appreciation to the High Commissioner of India, Mr. G. Balasubramanian, and his esteemed management team for organizing the seminar, recognizing their instrumental role in facilitating this crucial partnership.
