Former Governor of Zamfara State Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar has been declared the winner of Zamfara West Senatorial district in the just concluded Saturday 25th February polls.

Yari who contested under the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC) scored a total of (147, 346) to defeat his strongest PDP opponent Bello S. Fagon who polled (55,832) votes.

In the result collated, the candidate of the New Nigerian People’s Party polls (363) while that of Labour Party scored (111).

The Senatorial constituency has six local governments comprising Gummi, Bukkuyum, Anka, Talatar Mafara, Maradun and Bakura
