Governor Bello Mohammed has tasked the Ulama in Zamfara State to do more on the existing security situation in the state and the Country.

He made the charge while holding a crucial meeting with the Chief Imams of Jumma’at Mosques from across the state at the Government House.

"I find it necessary to hold this meeting with you today in realisation of the fact that nothing passes the power of prayer”, Governor Matawalle observed.

"Zamfara State is in a critical situation where only fervent and genuine supplications to the Almighty will alleviate our current situation. It is unfortunate that the state has degenerated to a situation we are in today”, Matawalle added

"The Governor noted that the kind of vices that are taking place by wayward persons in this state is alarming and indeed, call for sober reflection. I enjoin you to use this special month of Ramadhan to supplicate to the Almighty for the alleviation if these vices”, he charged.

In their various responses, the various Chief Imams present at the meeting commended the Governor for his efforts at ending the insecurity challenges in the state and promised to do more in their individual and collective capacities as religious leaders of the people.
