EXPOSED: YARI, MARAFA, OTHERS JOIN PDP.

 

After losing the battle, aggrieved former Zamfara governor Abdulaziz Yari and the man who led his defeat in court during the 2019 general elections, former Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa who represented Zamfara Central in the Senate along with their co-travelers have now decided to join the People democratic party PDP.

The decision to join the party followed a meeting between the two and Atiku Abubakar on Thursday, when the dual Zamfara due or die politicians were promised some positions and protection against anti – corruption agencies and judges.

Our sources told this medium that Yari reached agreement with the PDP National Chairman Iyorchia Ayuh, Aliyu Mohammed Gusau rtd, Alh Atiku Abubakar and Sokoto state governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal that he will contest for Senator position and be given the position of Senate president. While Senator Kabiru Marafa is to be given the ticket to contest for Zamfara Central senatorial district.

The PDP chairman and other critical stakeholders of the PDP also promised the two Zamfara born politicians, 16 seats in the state assembly and 4 members of the House of Representatives seats during the 2023 general elections.

Others packages offered to them according to our sources is the cover against various cases they have with various anti- corruption and security agencies.

One of the sources who pleaded anonymity told our reporter that during the meeting with Atiku Abubakar, Yari expressed fair that EFCC and the ICPC might hunt him due to the cases he has with them, in the event he join the PDP, but Atiku Abubakar, the PDP national chairman, Gen Aliyu Gusau, Aminu Tambuwal and Abubakar Bukola Saraki gave him the assurances that they will give him cover and that nothing the two agencies could do to him, as they are working together with the officials of the two anti- corruption agencies.

Senator Kabiru Marafa according to the source, told the critical stakeholders that he has a murder case in Zamfara and that he might be hunted by judges, if he eventually join the party.

Aminu Tambuwal, Atiku Abubakar and Gen Aliyu Mohammed Gusau rtd promised that nothing would happened to him as they know how to handle the judges.

Following the agreement according to our sources, Yari and Mafara may announce their defection to PDP anytime from now.
