EXPOSED: A FORMER ZAMFARA GOV ATTEMPTS REPLACING HIS ASSETS DECLARATION FORMS, AS HE NARROWLY ESCAPED JAIL.



A reliable source has confirmed to this news medium that a former Zamfara Gov Abdulaziz Yari narrowly escaped jail after an attempt to replace his assets declaration forms earlier submitted to the code of conduct bureau, before and after his two tenures as governor of the state.

According to our source who pleaded anonymity, said the former governor through proxy approached one of the state desk officers at the Code of Conduct Bureau Headquarters in Abuja and requested to have his earlier completed forms of assets declaration replaced with fresh ones, but the desk officer rejected the request.


Pressurized by a series of litigation bordering on assets declaration, the former Gov offered to give the sum of 500 million Naira to have the replacement of the documents, an offer rejected by the desk officer of the Code of Conduct Bureau headquarters in Abuja and threatened to jail him.


Investigations into the matter revealed that the governor whose some valuable assets were not included in the earlier completed documents leading to a recent final forfeiture of the illegally acquired assets by a court in Abuja, is trying to submit another form that included the seized assets in the new declaration to enable him make a case for the return of the confiscated assets.


You may recall that a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja recently ordered for a final forfeiture of some Yari assets including properties in Abuja, Lagos and the United States of America.


Yari was warned to desist from such attempts as he risks being jailed.
