BREAKING: EX- ZAMFARA GOVERNOR YARI DECLARED WANTED BY CODE OF CONDUCT BUREAU FOR ATTEMPTING TO BRIBE OFFICIAL.

Reports just reaching this medium have said the former Zamfara State governor Abdul Aziz Abubakar Yari has concluded plans to quietly flee Nigeria through Niger border after a failed attempt to bribe officials of the Nigeria’s Code of Conduct Bureau leading to declaring him wanted by the anti corruption agencies.

This was coming barely 48 hours after the All progressives Congress leadership and President Muhammadu Buhari scuttled his ambition to contest for the APC National chairman, following a decision to zone the party chairman position to north central and agreeing on consensus.

Realising that his name was on the watch list of the EFCC and ICPC for corrupt practices while in office as governor and chairman Nigeria Governors’ Forum, as well as the final forfeiture of his illegally acquired assets including properties in foreign countries, the former governor opted for sneaking out of the country through neighbouring Niger Republic.

Our sources said a close associate of the former governor, Ibrahim Danmaliki Gidan Goga was heard lamenting the planned run away by the former governor, saying ” His Excellency Yari will be going on political vacation to avert what happened to the immediate governor of Anambra State Willy Obiano who was arrested on his way to the United States of America, 16 hours after he handed over to professor Chukwuma Soludo.

” This is what I hate with our political godfathers in Nigeria, you vowed to protect their integrity, but at the end they abandoned you disgracefully becoming a laughing stock.

” I am astonished by the attitude and behaviour of the former governor. He told us to mobilize our people to disrupt and destabilize the national convention which we all accept along with Kabiru Marafa, and is now sneaking away. What does he want us to do? I am disappointed indeed.” Danmaliki lamented.

Last week, Yari marrowly escaped detention when Mr. Clinton Nwachukwu approached the Code of Conduct on Yari behalf with the Sum of N500,000,000, as a bribe to replace Yari assets declaration documents earlier submitted to the bureau with fresh documents to include some of his alleged illegally acquired properties and assets a Federal High Court ordered for final forfeiture in Abuja.

A close associate to the former Zamfara State governor who as well begged for anonymity said that, ” we collectively advised the former governor to leave the Country to avert what happened to Willy Obiano.
