The Coalition of Young leaders, a youth pressure group of the All progressive congress (APC) in Zamfara State has disclosed plans to embark on a 'one million -man march aimed at prevailing on the former Zamfara State governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle to declare interest ahead of the 2027 governorship contest.
The group said the plan is to join other patriotic members of the party in the State who have been calling on the former governor and now defense Minister to make himself available as a governatorial candidate of the party for 2027 Zamfara State governor election.
The group in a statement signed by its Secretary General Honourable Abubakar Lawal Zannah Badarawa, said it is appalled by the attempt by some people, it described as selfish politicians within Zamfara APC to resist the call on the former Zamfara State governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle to stand as APC flag bearer for 2027 governor election in Zamfara.
The Coalition further noticed that some desperate politician in Zamfara State are already being intimidated by the Continued rising call by Zamfara State APC Critical stakeholders even beyond party lines, on Matawalle to make himself available for Zamfara State leadership once again.
The group statement read: "We decided to organize one million -man march tto demand His Excellency Bello Mohammed Matawalle to as a matter of urgency to run as candidate for the 2027 Zamfara State governor election.
" This call , we expect, should excite every well- meaning member of our party,who are interested in the State development from the nation renewed hope programs of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu "
