The Arewa Media Group has called on the Honourable Minister of State for Defence, His Excellency Bello Mohammed Matawalle, to contest for the Zamfara State governorship in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during the group’s monthly Northern political assessment, the Chairman of the group, Honourable Danbalki Commander, stated that Matawalle remains the most reliable candidate capable of driving Zamfara State toward meaningful development in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, especially considering the billions of naira the state receives monthly from the Federation Account.
Danbalki Commander noted that the group is fully aware of the former Zamfara State governor’s ongoing behind-the-scenes consultations aimed at ensuring President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s victory in the 2027 general elections, particularly across the North and beyond. He added that Matawalle’s political track record demonstrates his capacity to successfully coordinate the Tinubu/Shettima campaign in the North-West zone.
According to him, Zamfara State is in urgent need of a leader like Matawalle to rescue it from total collapse, especially in areas such as inclusive governance, youth employment and empowerment, security, and overall development.
“Zamfara State, as it is today, needs someone like Bello Mohammed Matawalle to salvage it,” Danbalki Commander said.
