Thousand of Zamfara State residents are puts to a serious circle of confusion following the sudden news of the released of over 500 inmates convicted for various offences of banditry related offences for the past six years by the the previous administration of Senator Abdul Aziz Yari and His Excellency Bello Mohammed Matawalle,now the Defence Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
An insiders from Gusau Correctional facility confirmed that among the released inmates were 69 jailed hardened Criminals Bandits who were Alledged to secretly received governor Dauda Lawal State pardon princely sometime in September 2025.
Available informations further revealed that, the released bandits inmates were directed to be facilitated by the Zamfara State Zakkat and Endowment Board to take refuge under religion amnesty.
It was also reported that among those that benefited from governor Dauda Lawal backdoor amnesty were eight remanded suspects caught in January 2022 in connection with criminal conspiracy, culpable humicide dealing in human parts, and cannibalism.
