Matawalle:How can a Gov sponsoring Bandits remove Emirs for having links with Bandits-Ibrahim Dosara

 

In a recent interview with TVC News, Ibrahim Dosara, the former Commissioner of Information in Zamfara State, spoke out in defense of ex-Governor Bello Matawalle, who has been accused by the current Governor, Dauda Lawal, of having links to and sponsoring bandits in the state.

Dosara strongly dismissed these claims, describing them as baseless and unfair. He pointed out that while Matawalle was in office, he took serious steps to combat banditry. For example, Matawalle set up a committee led by a former Inspector General of Police to investigate individuals suspected of having connections with bandits.

After the committee submitted their findings, Matawalle established another committee, called a "white paper committee," which Dosara himself was part of. Based on their recommendations, Matawalle even removed two traditional rulers (Emirs) who were believed to be involved with bandits.

Dosara questioned how someone who was allegedly supporting bandits could take such strong actions against them. He believes that the current governor, Dauda Lawal, is making these accusations because he is struggling to manage the state's security challenges. Instead of working with the federal government to address the ongoing insecurity, Dosara feels that Lawal is engaging in what he called a "campaign of calumny" (which means trying to damage someone’s reputation with false claims).
