All is not well between governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State and his Commissioner for budget and planning Hon. Abdul Malik Gajam over the Commissioner refusal to prudently release the sum of N5b out of the N49b NG_Care which the State government recieved from the Federation Account last week.
It was reported that,Mr Gajam was seriously worries on how governor Dauda Lawal engaged in diverting Multi billions of Naira through his office without following due process, which made the Honourable Commissioner to threaten governor Dauda with resignation letter. During our investigative inquiries to know the actual roots of governor Dauda scandal, Mr, Gajam said that," the NG - care funds are meant to encourage small scales business to boost the state economy,but unfortunately a hired financial consultant to governor Dauda Malama Barau from Niger State demanded that before any Zamfara cizens benefits from the program the beneficiary must deposit 50% before he or she will be consider for the remaining disbursement.
Mr, Gajam further highlights that even the N2billion Fuel Subsidy palliative recieved from the federal government to purchase grains for Zamfara State Masses the Contract was through the office of the Secretary to the State government awarded to the governor wife Her Excellency Hurriya Dauda Lawal yet no body benefited from the gesture reasons why people are raining insults for president Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration for neglecting the State.
Though, governor Dauda Lawal was reported attempting to bribe Mr Gajam with the sum of N2billion Naira and a Prado Toyota 2024 Jeep to sweep his annoyance under the carpet but Gajam vehemently rejected the offer through the office of the Chief of Staff to governor Dauda Malam Muntari Lugga.
