PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU COMMITTED TO TACKLING INSECURITY- BELLO MATAWALLE.

 


To deliver the mandate of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's unwavering desure and commitment to providing adequate security of lives and property to the people, the Honourable Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Muhammed Matawalle MON, today, Wednesday, January 24, 2024, attended a two significant two-day roundtable on security in Northern Nigeria where he

played a pivotal role in the search for viable and sustainable solutions to the lingering security concerns in the region in particular and the country in general. 


The roundtable event was organized by the Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) as part of the organisation's contributions to the search for solutions to the region's spate of kidnappings, banditry,  Boko Haram and other forms of criminality. 


The event, held at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre in Asokoro, Abuja, commenced today, January 24th, and will conclude tomorrow, the 25th, 2024.


The roundtable discussion chaired by Nigeria's former head of state General Abdussalami Abubakar GCFR (Rtd) brought together key figures to address the persistent issue of insecurity in Northern Nigeria.


Notable attendees included His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, Dr. Sa'adu Abubakar; Executive Governors from Gombe, Kaduna, Zamfara, Katsina, Bauchi, and Nasarawa; and the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar CON mni, who contributed their expertise to the discussions.


The roundtable also saw the presence of Chief of Defence Staff, General C.G Musa OFR, former Senate President Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, and the former Governor of Katsina State, Rt. Honourable Aminu Bello Masari. Notable figures from various sectors, including the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Sen. Abubakar Kyari, Prof. Attahiru Jega, Chief Dr. Audu Ogbeha, and Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Gummi, among others, actively participated in the diverse 8


played a pivotal role in collective effort and underscores a commitment to fostering collaboration and devising effective strategies to address the complex security landscape in Northern Nigeria.
