Alhaji Yariman Kwaren Ganuwa, the Director, New Media to Zamfara State ex Governor Bello Matawalle, has described the published news by some media organisations, that the ex governor has been declared wanted by the EFCC as fake news and the height of irresponsible journalism.

In his reaction, Ganuwa pointed tout that:

"Our attention has been drawn to sponsored media reports on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), declaring the immediate past governor of Zamfara, Bello Matawalle, wanted. It is unfortunate that the present Zamfara State government under the leadership of Dauda Lawal, has used a whooping Twenty million Naira (N20,000,000.00), to wastefully create and sponsor fake news against former Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State, instead of being concerned and tackling the notorious burden of the state which is insecurity.

"Still unfortunate is the fact that, just yesterday, the students of Federal University, Gusau, took to the streets to demonstrate their anger over incessant kidnapping of their colleagues by suspected armed bandits.

"On Friday night, some suspected bandits armed with deadly weapons invaded one of the private hostels occupied by the University students at Damba Area, an outskirt of Gusau, the capital city of Gusau and abducted five students. And about fifteen (15) students of the Federal University, Gusau were so far abducted by bandits. The parents of these students were left with the burden of sourcing for funds to pay for ransom, noting that neither the management of the university nor the Zamfara state government was concerned about the problem."

Ganuwa decried the lackadaisical attitude of Dauda Lawal's government, towards solving the real issues of the people instead of wasting public funds on chasing shadows up and down.

"Our people are dying and they are being kidnapped day by day by Armed bandits without any sympathy or action from the state government. Let me advice Governor Dauda Lawal, PDP and their members to stop playing politics with lives of the good people of Zamfara state and stop spreading fake news that can cause confusion or disturb the peace in the state. Let me also advice Dauda Lawal to come back home and face the security challenges, we are facing as he promised during his campaign in the state, instead of him sponsoring fake news," Ganuwa added.
