The People of Akko Local government area of Gombe State have on Tuesday 7th March 2023 hailed the former Chief of Army Staff and Nigeria's Ambassador to Benin Republic Lt Gen Amb Tukur Yusuf Buratai rtd, CFR for his philanthropic activities and concerns for the poor and vulnerable across the country.
General Buratai who made a stop over on his way to his hometown Biu, was overwhelmed by the he was welcomed by the community.
He described the People of Akko as highly responsible and hospitable.
He said the manner in which he was received was highly8 commendable and memorable.
Earlier the community elders described General Buratai as an embodiment of the legacies of Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto and Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, the former prime minister of Nigeria.
The community also described him as a venevolent contributor to humanity and9 prayed Allah to continue to reward him.
