Zamfara Youth Progressive Movement Says News Of Defection From APC Is Fake News

The Zamfara Youth Progressive Movement says it's attention has been called to the spurious news, in a popular online news platform, which suggests that a defection hits Zamfara APC members.

According to the Publicity Secretary of the body, "there has been no such event anywhere in Zamfara state, instead, other parties have been joining the APC enmasse," said Mallam Saliu Ado Ibrahim.

In his reaction, he added that there is no iota of truth in the news report and "it is shocking that people have resorted to canvassing lies as news and fabricating fake news wherever and whenever they feel like doing so. It is very unhealthy for our democracy."

Saliu Ado Ibrahim called for caution in sending information to tge general public especially on matters concerning the forthcoming general elections.

"There are no fears anywhere in the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in Zamfara. APC is the leading party in this state and as such we are not afraid of the coming election, the government has gone ahead to clarify and washed its hands off the ordeal of the recent arrest of the former minister of communication, Alhaji Ikra Aliyu Bilbis by the authorities in the state. It has nothing to do with the APC or with the government. Zamfara citizens are also fully aware of this," he added.
