ZAMFARA STATE GOVERNMENT HOUSE WEEK UNDER REVIEW

 




1 - SECURITY:

Tuesday 21st December, 2021.


Governor Bello Muhammad MON (Matawallen Maradun) had a session behind closed doors with the Service Chiefs in the state.


b - CONDOLENCE: 

The Governor visited residence of Late Alh. Jamilu Aliyu who until his death on Thursday 16th December, 2021, was the District Head of Karal in Gusau Emirate for condolence. 

Late Jamilu Aliyu was a close associate of Governor Bello Matawalle who he confided upon while alive.

The Governor spent some time at the residence and subsequently approved the appointment of Surajo Aliyu, younger brother to Late Jamilu Aliyu as the District Head of Karal. 

Governor Matawalle further went ahead and personally took some responsibilities of the family of the deceased upon himself.


2 - STATE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL: 

Wednesday 22nd December, 2021


Governor Bello Muhammad MON (Matawallen Maradun) had presided over the State Executive Meeting where the council adopted minutes of the last Exco Meeting and resolved to undetake inspection visit to the ongoing projects within the Government House as well as some in the State Capital.


b - SUPERVISIONS:

The Governor led members of the  State Executive Council and other Government officials to the inspection of ongoing construction of new structures in the Government House and expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work done.


c- His Excellency Governor Bello visited Special Primary School Gusau constructed by the previous administration. The Governor lamented over the deplorable and poor condition of structures in the School located behind Government House. He ordered the contractor to return to site or face the wrath of the government.


3 - SOCIAL SECURITY COUNCIL INAUGURATED:

Thursday 23rd December, 2021.


Governor Bello Mohammed (Matawallen Maradun) inaugurated the State Social Protection Council and Nigeria Road Safety Strategy Advisory Council.

The dual Councils are part of his administration's plans for a better Social Security and protection of lives and property in the state.


The two councils are to be chaired by the Secretary to the State Government Alh. Kabiru Balarabe (Sardaunan Dan Isa) and State Commissioner of Works, Alhaji Rabiu Garba respectively.


b - CONDOLENCE:

The Governor received State Council of Chiefs led by Alh. Attahiru Muhammad Ahmad, Emir of Zamfaran Anka and Chairman Council of Traditional Rulers who paid him a condolence visit in his Office over the death of his Mother-in-Law Late Hajiya Fatima Ahmad Girema.


c - ASSENTING 2022 APPROPRIATION BILL INTO LAW:


Governor Bello Mohammed (Matawallen Maradun) had signed a N(159,481,587,029.00) 2022 Appropriation bill into law.

The bill was presented to him by the entire members of the State Legislature led by the Speaker, Right Honourable Nasiru Muazu Magarya, at the Council Chambers of the Government House. In attendance were the State Executive Council and the Council of Traditional Rulers. The Fourth Estate of the Realm, the media, were also in attendance and had reported the event on different platforms.


4 - VISIT TO STATE MINISTRY OF FINANCE:

Friday 24th December, 2021.


Governor Bello Muhammad MON (Matawallen Maradun) paid an unscheduled visit to the State Ministry of Finance to find out what was delaying the payment of salaries to the State Civil Servants.

The impromptu Friday evening visit took the Ministry's Principal Officers and Staff by surprise and the Governor ordered for instant release of salaries to the State Civil Servants.


b - FRIDAY PRAYERS:


Earlier in the day the Governor attended Juma’at Prayers at Late Isah Mayana Memorial Mosque Gada Biyu.
