The Coalition of the All progressive Congress APC Northwest, has lambasted Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan, Spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP over his continuous intimidation of Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle of Zamfara State who recently defected from the PDP to the All progressive Congress, APC.
In a press release, the coalition Spokesperson Hon. Yohana Magaji said: “Mr. Kola and his already dead Peoples Democratic Party, the PDP should note that the Executive Governor of Zamfara State, His Excellency Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle, is the one who gave PDP a platform in Zamfara State.”
Citing Governor Matawalle as the father of PDP who won several elections under the party with his hard earned resources in the state without any influence or supports of a godfather. He added that even those who called themselves the founders of the PDP in the state did all they could but ended up not winning their polling units for the past 20 years. There are facts to back this up.” Mr. Yohana said.
According to Hon. Yohana, “We have been monitoring the PDP Spokesperson propagative running mouth on Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle of Zamfara State and indeed, the good people of the state which we believed and considered as an attack to Nigerian Democracy and the freedom of association. The group further reminded the opposition party, the PDP that, ” If they could vividly remember, His Excellency Malam Isa Yuguda as the then Governor of Bauchi State won his Governorship election under the then All Nigerian People’s Party, ANPP, in 2007 and eventually defected to Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and heavens did not fall.”
The group also lamented that His Excellency Atiku Abubakar defected from the APC to PDP then APC and the party did not crucify the former Nigerian Vice President, also Bukola Saraki as the then Senate President defected from his Party APC to the opposition PDP with about 13 PDP Governors organizing a befitting party to welcome him. APC then quietly wished him well for stealing the most powerful no 3 citizen seat from them. ” Hon. Yohana recalls.
Also President Olusegun Obasanjo resigned his membership registration from the PDP and nobody committed suicide. Then why would PDP and its co-losers so confused and jittery over Governor Matawalle’s decamping? the group asked.
They added that President Muhammadu Buhari as a man of integrity and trust needs the support of someone like Gov. Matawalle and that’s why “we supported Zamfara State Governor to join hands with Mr. President to move Nigeria forward.”
Mr. Kola should at this point close that his wide mouth and stop intimidating Gov. Matawalle and the good people of Zamfara State who are entitled to freedom of association as stated in the law of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. “the group warned.
