INSECURITY: GOVERNOR MATAWALLE PROMISES TO UPTIMALLY UTILIZE THE DIGITAL EMERGENCY CALL CENTRES IN THE STATE TO END BANDITRY ACTIVITIES

His Excellency, the Zamfara State Executive Governor, Hon. Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle MON (Shattiman Sakkwato) says his administration will utilise the three digital emergency call centres provided by the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy to end  banditry activities in the state.


The governor made this known today when he visited  the Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy at his office in Abuja.


He said his administration is determined to utilise the digital emergency call centers to the maximum and ensure that the purposes to which they were established are achieved.


He explained that technology plays very vital role in securing societies globally and for this, his government has resolved to utilise all the centres constructed in the state in order to bring and end to banditry activities and other criminalities in the state.


He added that with  proper utilization of the new system, the country will return to its old glory of peaceful coexistence where every citizen will live peacefully with one another irrespective of tribe or region.  


Governor Matawalle also appreciated the minister's digital support in the ongoing fight against banditry, kidnapping and cattle rustling. 


Matawalle further said that the centres will in addition, create job opportunities to the teeming ICT application and design compliant youths throughout the state.


Responding, the Ministers of Communications and Digital Economy, Honourable Ali Isa Pantami said all the centres provided in Zamfara state are specially for security and employment purposes and that they will go into full operations very soon.


He commended the proactive posture of Governor Matawalle in tackling insecurity and the state government's development drive of moving Zamfara State forward 


The minister also informed the governor that the request he made last year when he paid a similar visit has been included and approved in the 2021 budget.


During the visit the governor was accompanied by Honourable Aminu Sani Jaji and the Principal Private Secretary to the Governor Lawal Umar Maradun among others
